How CardMax makes money

CardMax is free to use. We may earn a commission when you apply for and are approved for a credit card through a link on this site or in our app. The commission is paid by the bank, by a sales agency working for the bank, or by an affiliate network. It never costs you anything extra.

Commission never affects rankings

Every list on CardMax is ordered by reward rate or annual fee only. Whether a card pays us commission, and how much, has no effect on where it appears. Many top-ranked cards earn us nothing. No bank can pay for a higher position. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored” and kept out of rankings.

Which links are commercial

Apply buttons may take you to a tracked link that tells the bank or network you came from CardMax. Links marked “View on the bank’s site” go to the bank’s ordinary product page. Commercial links are marked as sponsored in the page code so search engines can tell them apart.
