Terms of use
Draft: pending review by a UAE lawyer. Last updated 23 Oct 2026.
Effective 22 October 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and CardMax. CardMax is operated by [legal name of the CardMax company], a company registered in the United Arab Emirates under licence number [licence number], with its address at [registered address] (“CardMax”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the CardMax app on Android and iOS, the website cardmaxrewards.com and any related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Who can use CardMax
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. The Service is designed for people living in the United Arab Emirates; card information relates to UAE-issued cards.
2. What CardMax is, and isn’t
- CardMax is an information and comparison tool. It tells you which of your cards pays the most at a given shop or category, compares UAE credit cards, and helps you track rewards.
- CardMax is not a bank, lender, payment service, credit broker or licensed financial adviser, and it is not licensed or regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE or the Securities and Commodities Authority. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation that a card is suitable for your personal circumstances.
- Recommendations are based on the reward rates banks publish and the information you give us. They don’t take into account your full financial situation, your credit history, interest charges or your ability to repay.
- Using a credit card means borrowing. Only spend what you can repay in full, because interest and fees usually outweigh any rewards.
3. Card information and accuracy
We take card details (reward rates, fees, minimum spends, caps, welcome offers and perks) from each bank’s own published pages, and we show when information was last checked. Banks change their terms often and without telling us, so we can’t guarantee that every figure is complete, current or error-free. The bank’s own terms always take precedence over anything shown in the Service. Rates we believe may be wrong are marked “under review” and left out of rankings. Figures for rewards earned or missed are estimates based on published rates and the purchases you log; your bank’s statement is the official record.
4. Applying for a card, and how we’re paid
CardMax doesn’t issue cards or decide applications. When you tap Apply you go to the bank or its partner and deal with them directly, under their terms. Approval, credit limits, fees and rewards are entirely the bank’s decision. CardMax may earn a commission if you're approved for a card through links on this site. This never affects how cards are ranked: rankings are by reward rate or annual fee only, and no bank can pay for a position. Card details come from each bank's published terms; always confirm them on the bank's own site before you apply. CardMax is not a bank or a licensed financial adviser. See our affiliate disclosure.
5. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password secret. You’re responsible for activity on your account; tell us straight away at cardmax.uae@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
- One account per person, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or at cardmaxrewards.com/delete-account.
6. Your information and content
You own the information you add, such as your wallet, logged purchases and reports. You give CardMax a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to run, improve and secure the Service, and to create de-identified, aggregated statistics as described in our privacy policy. Don’t add information you don’t have the right to share. Never enter a full card number, expiry date, CVV, PIN or banking password anywhere in CardMax; we never ask for them.
7. Device features and permissions
Some features use your location, notifications or (on Android, if you switch it on) your banks’ transaction alerts. They only work after you give permission and you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings. Location features may use more battery. You’re responsible for any mobile data charges from your network provider.
8. Premium subscriptions
CardMax may offer optional paid features (“Premium”). If you subscribe:
- The price, billing period and features are shown before you confirm. Payment is taken by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through your store account, under their terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your CardMax account doesn’t cancel a store subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, you’ll be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. This doesn’t affect any rights you have under UAE consumer protection law.
- We may change Premium prices or features. We’ll tell you in advance, and a price change applies from your next renewal; you can cancel before it does.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service or its card database, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the Service, its security or its servers, except where the law allows it;
- use bots or false accounts, or manipulate Apply links or click references;
- submit false reports or content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive or that infringes anyone’s rights;
- use the Service in any way that breaks UAE law, including the laws on cybercrime and consumer protection.
10. Our content and trademarks
The Service, including its design, software, text and the way our card data is compiled, belongs to CardMax or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the app store’s rules. Bank names, card names, logos and card images belong to their owners and are used only to identify their products; their use doesn’t mean the bank endorses CardMax.
11. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
12. Third-party services
The Service links to and relies on third parties, such as banks, affiliate networks, app stores, map data and Google Firebase. We aren’t responsible for their content, products, availability or privacy practices.
13. Changes, test versions and availability
We’re continually improving CardMax and may add, change or remove features. Test versions shared before public launch may contain errors and may change without notice. We aim to keep the Service available but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent UAE law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires, including any warranty that card information is accurate or complete, or that following a recommendation will earn a particular reward. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under UAE consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent UAE law allows: (a) CardMax isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, rewards, opportunity or data; (b) CardMax isn’t liable for decisions you make based on the Service, including applying for, using or cancelling a card, or for the acts of banks and other third parties; and (c) CardMax’s total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid CardMax in the 12 months before the claim and AED 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that UAE law doesn’t allow to be limited.
16. Indemnity
If you misuse the Service or break these terms and that causes a claim against CardMax, you agree to cover CardMax’s reasonable losses and costs arising from it, to the extent the law allows.
17. Suspension and ending these terms
You can stop using CardMax and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or the Service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable we’ll tell you first and explain why. If we close the Service entirely we’ll give you reasonable notice. Sections 3, 4, 6, 10 and 14–20 continue to apply after these terms end.
18. Apple App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and CardMax only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, and if the app fails to meet a warranty that applies you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple isn’t responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and aren’t on a U.S. government restricted-party list. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play’s terms of service also apply to your use of the store. If these terms conflict with the store’s terms about the store, the store’s terms apply.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. If you have a problem, please email cardmax.uae@gmail.com first; we’ll try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can’t, the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have under UAE law to bring a consumer complaint to the competent authority. You accept these terms electronically, and electronic acceptance is valid under UAE law.
20. General
- We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing a right straight away doesn’t mean we’ve given it up.
- You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them as part of a reorganisation or sale of CardMax, and your rights won’t be reduced as a result.
- These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and there is a conflict, the English version applies, unless UAE law requires otherwise.
